Informations: Feuerzangenbowle is a traditional German alcoholic drink for which a rum-soaked sugarloaf is set on fire and drips into mulled wine. This sugar loaf is for prepare the German Feuerzangenbowle, called also as Fire Tongs Punch or Burnt Punch. This German mulled wine punch is served with a sugar loaf soaked in rum and then set on fire. One Cologne sugar loaf (250g / 8.8 oz) in the typical shape. The classic application of the sugar loaf is the traditional Feuerzangenbowle – a popular drink for an atmospheric get-together on cold days. A Feuerzangenbowle recipe is prepared in a bowl, it’s somewhat similar to a fondue set, which is over a small flame. The bowl is filled with heated dry red wine spiced with fall and winter baking spices: cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise, allspice, citrus which is like making mulled wine. You have to be extremely careful when preparing the Feuerzangenbowle. The preparation is done with an open fire! Please note the dangers of handling open fire!
