This vessel is often referred to as a beer mug by English speakers. The Privatbrauerei Erdinger Weissbräu Werner Brombach GmbH (also known as Erdinger Weissbräu) is a brewery in Erding, Germany. Its best-known products are its namesake wheat beer. Weizenbier or Hefeweizen, in the southern parts of Bavaria usually called Weissbier (literally “white beer”, but the name probably derives from Weizenbier, “wheat beer”), is a beer, traditionally from Bavaria, in which a significant proportion of malted barley is replaced with malted wheat. By German law, Weissbiers brewed in Germany must be fermented using a “top-fermenting” yeast, which is technically an “ale yeast”. The amount of beer in a Mass is exactly 1 liter (33.8 U.S. fl oz). The German beer stein is from Erdinger Weißbier .. in Bayern gebraut (brewed in Bavaria). A great traditional collector’s mug of Maß beer.
